#OUR TIMELINES, OUR LIFE#

                                                                                “There’s time for everything. Don’t compare yourself with others and feel frustrated because you think others are going ahead. The progress of others does not mean you are failing.”-{Pastor Chris Oyakhilome}

 We are unique beings with different purposes, and only God knows our timeline from the beginning to the end. The Good book even admonishes us to take heed, watch and pray as we know not when the time is.{cf Mk 13:33} We have to be patient and hopeful because our breakthrough may just be 24 hours away. We should not feel defeated because we think others are getting ahead of us; and should not find solace and think we are okay because we see certain friends to still be behind us.

 Do not run the race of your life according to the pace of others, and never let anyone influence you with their timeline because as Einstein said,”Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that’s counted truly counts.”                                                                                                                                                                                                   #itsalwayspossible#

#DARING TO BE#

“You cannot push anyone up the ladder unless he is willing to climb a little himself”-{Andrew Canergie}

 Life,they say, is a war,an unending battle till death do us part. We always ought to fight to get what we want. We have to fight to become the person we want to be and accomplish the goals we aspire to acquire. Life is what happens with what we do with our present. We are only assured of now, and that’s the more reason why we have to push forward, take risks and make the best out of it. Just like a wheelbarrow, nothing happens in our lives unless we keep pushing!

RESPONSIBILITY

“The price of greatness is responsibility “-{Winston Churchill}

Responsibility is being morally accountable for one’s actions, and it is the highest form of maturity. It’s only babies who are not accountable and responsible for their actions. Once you mature, you have no one to blame in life for where you find yourself. We should learn to be responsible and not apportion blames for what happens in our lives. Success has always been a personal responsibility. Nothing happens by chance and success does not happen on a silver platter. The responsibility to be successful has always depended on one’s self. Until we take responsibilities for the possibilities in our lives and allow God to handle the impossibilities, we are bound to remain where we find ourselves!                                                                                                                #itsalwayspossible#

THE SYCAMINE SERIES pt4

‘’Are you chronically angry? Turn your life around by killing anger and achieving calmness everyday’’ –(Jennifer Carter)

The Sycamine tree in spite of its uniqueness and outward beauty, according to research had a fruit very bitter in taste such that it could not be eaten in a sitting. The consumers(mostly poor people who had to make-do with it to fill their belly) therefore had to nibble it bit by bit.

A lot of folks who are bitter and are filled with resentments are those who nibble on their feelings and emotions for a long time. They give a lot of attention to their past, dreaming and reflecting deeply on certain offences and offenders who might be the cause of their pain. In the end, their perpetual nibbling on the poisonous fruit of bitterness turns them into bitter people who drink poison and expect their offenders to die. Learn to deal with your anger today or your anger will deal with you tomorrow!

‘’What grows in the ground (our hearts) is far deeper than what grows on top of the ground (outside of our lives)- Michael Diabour Jnr
The Sycamine tree is of a massive size, has a memorable growth pattern, distinctive bark and clusters of seed which all contribute to its uniqueness. They are large tress ranging in height from 60-100 ft tall and wide as 15ft in diameter. Their roots get so deeper in the ground such that even cutting or trimming (without uprooting the main roots) only clears the outward manifestation. The only way to completely kill this tree therefore is by uprooting or removing the stump as well.

In the same vein, many of us in this generation of ours are living our lives in a way worth comparing to the sycamine tree. Our inner hurts, disappointment and unforgiving spirit have been deeply rooted to such an extent that cutting or trimming it will have no effect unless we remove it by the stump and dig out along with the connecting roots.

THE SYCAMINE SERIES 2

‘’You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.’’- (Buddha)
In our reference text for yesterday (cf Lk 17:3-6), the apostles asked Jesus to increase their faith after He had told them to be willing and ready to forgive their brethren as many times as they offend them within a day. This was something they only demanded when the need to forgive and not resent or begrudge their offenders for whatever harm they might have caused them set in.

Forgiving once is already a challenge for most people. To forgive someone seven times in a day therefore almost sounds impossible and incomprehensible. However, in spite of how difficult it may be, we do more harm than good to ourselves when we do not learn to release bitterness, forgive those who hurt us, let go of disappointments and save our strength/energy for a worthier course.
