Do not focus on people, focus on your purpose. On many occasions, we find ourselves trying to compete with people who may not even be aware of any ongoing competition. We focus on competing with others, trying to outdo them or prove that we’re more successful or more important than they are. We spend our limited, precious time and energy running after people and missing our own paths to our God-giving destinies. It takes a lot of physical and emotional energy to constantly compete with others. Joes Osteen once described the problem with unhealthy competition as a never-ending cycle because there would always be someone ahead of you, someone richer or more skilful than you are. That is the more reason why you should realize you’re not in a competition with them but you’re in the class of your own. Run your own race and be the best you can possibly become!
